Jennifer Ellis is an associate lawyer at GMSB. Her practice focuses on the areas of Real Estate, Corporate & Commercial, Wills & Estates, and Family Law. Jennifer was called to the Ontario Bar on September 23, 2016.
Jennifer obtained her Juris Doctor at Lakehead University’s Bora Laskin Faculty of Law. During law school, she sought a well-rounded education and was actively involved in student life and extracurriculars. As a member of Lakehead’s Charter class, she helped form their Law Students’ Society and advocated for various student opportunities such as their “Charter Class Moot Competition”. Jennifer completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Public Policy from the University of Guelph.
Jennifer started at GMSB in 2010, as a legal assistant. After starting law school in 2013, she returned in her summers as a law student. In fall 2015, Jennifer completed her Integrated Practice Curriculum placement with Ducharme Fox in Windsor Ontario, where she gained valuable experience in the areas of family law and civil litigation.
Jennifer is excited to have returned to her hometown of Sarnia, where she completed high school at St. Christopher Secondary School (RIP). Currently, Jennifer is on the Board of Directors with Pathways Health Centre for Children and the Board of Directors for New Beginning ABI & Stroke Recovery Association. She is proud to play an active role in Sarnia’s local legal community.
In her spare time, Jennifer loves traveling and spending meaningful time with friends and family. She is always planning her next great adventure, whether it is enjoying the beautiful Sarnia-Lambton shoreline, discovering cultures abroad, or exploring the Canadian outdoors. In addition, she enjoys being outside where she runs, hikes, and camps.
